Ravi Bopara fears http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 would bounce back strongly - Cricket News Update
Having routed Pakistan in the opening two games of the four-match One Day International series, in-form http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RS-Bopara-c2373 has warned his side against complacency in the ensuing matches.
After a 3-0 nil Test series whitewash at the hands of the Men in Green, the Poms have bounced back quickly in the one-day format of the game, winning both the ODIs played so far quite comprehensively. Alastair Cook-led England side crushed Pakistan by a
mammoth 130-run margin in the series opener at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imtiaz-Sheikh-c64290 Zayed stadium, Abu Dhabi before prevailing by 20 runs in the closely contested second one-dayer on Wednesday, at the same Abu Dhabi venue.
The third match of the series is scheduled to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, February 18, 2012 and Bopara feels the change of venue might change the mood of the opposition players as well.
England currently leads the series 2-0 and a victory at Dubai tomorrow will give them an unassailable 3-0 lead. However, the 26-year-old middle order batsman, who has scored half centuries in both the one-dayers played so far, insisted Pakistan is an unpredictable
side, capable of bouncing back at any stage in the series.
"Any series where you go 2-0 up is pretty good," said Bopara speaking to media reporters on Thursday. "But we're keeping our feet on the ground. We know from the Test series what Pakistan are capable of. They are a very unpredictable side," the right-hander
insisted.
Agreeing that England’s cricketing record in subcontinent conditions has never been impressive, Bopara said that a series win this time around would be great for them, especially after a 3-0 Test series humiliation.
"It's going to be a massive thing for us to win out here,” said the 26-year-old http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 batsman. “We haven't had a good one-day record in the sub-continent so it's a big thing for us to win. It will give us confidence to know we can do it in sub-continent
conditions," he added further.
The fourth and last ODI of the series will be played at Dubai on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, which will be followed by three T20 Internationals.
