Ravi Bopara intends to improve his bowling ahead of India series – Cricket News Update

England’s cricketer, Ravi Bopara, is aiming to improve his bowling for the upcoming limited-overs series, which is part of England's tour of India.

"At some stage, it is going to be called upon - and I'm going to have to do a good job,” said Bopara.

He admitted that Indians have a very strong batting-line up and would have supportive pitch conditions at home, which will create problems for the tourists’ bowling attack.

Bopara thinks that in such situation he should be ready to help his side in the bowling department as well.

"Watching some of these IPL games on TV, racking up 200 and people chasing them down, it seems like there's going to be some great pitches,” he added.

Bopara has been more efficient with the bat as compared to his performance with the ball. Making his ODI debut in February 2007, he has claimed 13 wickets, while bowling in 27 One-Day International innings, at an average of 37.15
including his best bowling figures of 4/38.

During his cricketing career so far, he has been dropped from the ODI squad on several occasions; however, Bopara remained steadfast with his hard work.

"I enjoy bowling but I don't see myself as one of those guys who's going to bowl 10 overs. I see myself as one of those who's going to possibly take a wicket, or bowl two or three hopefully tight overs and make the batsmen have
to do something which can change the game," asserted Bopara.

The 26-year-old displayed remarkable batting in England’s first tour game against Hyderabad, where he scored 73 runs off 82 balls, including three fours and one six, leading his side to a 56-run victory. Although he bowled six
overs, he remained wicket-less for 30 runs.

England XI will play their second and final warm-up match against Hyderabad XI, today. While India and England will face each other in the first game of the five-match ODI series on October 14, 2011.

The tourists will be missing one of their key bowlers, Stuart Broad, in the upcoming limited-overs series while the hosts would also play without the spearhead of their bowling attack Zaheer Khan.
