England batsman Ravi Bopara has expressed his frustration after not being picked for the Test team to take on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 at home and said that he wants to be in the Test side as the longer version of the sport is a real test of a player’s ability.
There was an empty spot in the middle order of England’s Test team as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PD-Collingwood-c2173 announced his retirement from five day cricket after a poor showing in the Ashes 2010-11.
Bopara wanted to seize that opportunity and opted not to play the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) earlier this year as he wanted to strengthen his case for national selection by showing loyalty with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).
However, left handed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808.
Bopara’s confidence looks to be shattered after he was ignored for the first two Tests of the series. Right handed batsman said that he wants to be in the Test team at any cost and vowed to score big runs in county cricket this year to prove his mettle.
Middle order batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 had a great start to Test cricket but could not maintain his form for a longer period of time. However, he wants to cement his place in the Test team once he is given another chance at the highest level of the game.
Bopara said, “I’d love to be playing Test cricket. Whether I deserve the spot or not, I cannot say. I am a little bit frustrated. I want to get in the side by sheer weight of runs and I want to earn my spot and hopefully if I do I can go in there and keep
my spot.”
He admitted that England have a number of high class batsmen at the moment and it is extremely tough to break into the Test team.
“There are some fantastic batsmen in that side that are all scoring runs. You can’t fault anyone who is scoring runs and playing well. I hope they keep playing well,” he added.
