England's all-rounder, Ravi Bopara, who has been recalled for the Third Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, stressed that he has become a mature player in the last two years, while he was neglected.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 won the previous two Tests convincingly against the tourists and is on the driving seat at the moment.
The first Test at Lord’s, was won by 196 runs, followed by another stunning victory of 319 runs in the second match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
Bopara got a chance once http://www.senore.com/Cricket/IJL-Trott-c1576 was declared unfit, as he dislocated his shoulder while fielding in the second Test. He wants to grasp the chance offered to him by a fine performance in the match which he considers as a challenge for him.
"I backed my ability, I definitely know more about myself now than I ever have and I'm just looking forward to the challenge."
Bopara made his Test debut against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, on December 1st, 2007, at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy.
The right hand batsman has played 10 Tests and scored 502 runs, at an average of 33.46 runs. It is interesting to note that he has converted all three fifties in to hundreds so far.
He played his last Test against the arch rivals http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 at Headingly, Leeds, from August 7 to 9, 2009, which was folded back by the visitors in just three days when they won the match by an innings and 80 runs.
The 26-year-old believed he has learned a lot during two years when he was out of the national side, which will benefit his cricket for many years to come.
He further commented, "It's amazing what you can learn in two years about yourself. Just when you think you've got it cracked you suddenly realise that you haven't and that you've got a lot to learn. I've learned a lot over the last couple of years and I'm
sure I've got a lot to learn over the next five, hopefully 10, years.”
The third Test will be played against India from August 10, 2011, at Edgbeston, Birmingham. England can rise to the top spot in the world ranking by winning that encounter and Bopara is confident to shine with his performance in the match.
