Ravi Kushwaha trounces Satyam Sharma in second round of 36th Junior National Badminton Championship
Ravi Kushwaha, a budding shuttler in India, proved his fabulous skills as he trounced Satyam Sharma in the second round of Boy’s Singles U17 category at the 36th Junior National Badminton Championship, on Wednesday, February 8.
Kushwaha was uncontrollable in the court as he played attacking badminton in the whole match and bagged it in straight sets by taking just 16 minutes in the court. On the other hand, Sharma played well particularly in the second game but unfortunately, he failed to make his mark over his compatriot and lost the match with a decent margin.
The opening game of this Boy’s Singles fight was completely one-sided as Kushwaha was everywhere in the court. His incredibly fast reflexes coupled with the variation of strokes spared no room for Sharma to put up strong resistance.
Kushwaha sailed smoothly in the first half of opening game and remained successful in setting up a tremendous lead.
After the break, Sharma accelerated his speed in the rear-court area and executed powerful smashes but failed to destroy the defence of his rival.
On the other hand, Kushwaha was composed in the game as he did not make any mistake in the whole set and won it by a one-sided score of 21-11.
In the second set, Sharma entered into the court in a different mood as he played aggressive game and did not let his rival to dominate the pace of rallies anymore.
Both shuttlers missed no chance to earn the points and remained close on score board until the 60-second interval in the second set.
After the break, both boys kept on snapping each other’s heel as they played to their maximum speed by taking the bird early from all corners. Kushwaha dominated the game at net while Sharma earned points by executing accurate smashes.
The score was 20-20 when Kushwaha played smartly as he became quicker and outclassed his rival by executing powerful strokes in right areas. He earned two consecutive points with his perfect shot placement and won the set with a tight margin of 22-20.
Kushwaha ended this Boy’s Singles U17 contest in just 16 minutes with a 21-11 and 22-20 score on the board.
