Ray Allen not happy with Boston Celtics Management – NBA Update
The Boston Globe has reported that Ray Allen is apparently not happy with the team management of the Boston Celtics, and may not return next year to the Celtics squad. The news comes as a shock to the NBA and fans, as Allen seemed to be well settled in his
new life and role in the Celtics squad, and seemed to be emotionally attached to the franchise.
After all, he won an NBA championship with this teams a few years ago. The Celtics, on the other hand have also been on the receiving end since Allen was traded to their club. He has been a pivotal part of the restructuring of the Boston club that had not
made the playoffs in a long time. Allen, along with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, have brought the Boston Celtics back to its glory, winning an NBA crown in the process.
However, Allen seems to feel “slighted” by the Boston Celtics organization as they had decided to send him to Memphis just before the trade deadline. The trade was almost complete and head coach Doc Rivers labelled it a scary moment.
“It was a scary moment for all of us. If you lose Ray, that’s a scary moment. He’s pretty good. I would not want to see Ray, Paul (Pierce) or Kevin (Garnett) ever moved. That’s just how you are. Even if you got the best deal in the world, you’re still losing
guys you have an attachment with. That would be scary for anyone.”
Apart from the strange revelation that the Celtics wanted to trade Allen, it has been reported that Ray is also feeling uncomfortable with the fact that he has lost his starting position to Avery Bradley. Ray feels that ever since the trade issue, the franchise
management has sort of closed communication with him and the regard between the two parties also seems to have been lost.
With the Celtics gaining momentum at the right time and their big three clicking again, Ray wants to focus on the playoffs and possibly win another championship ring with the club. But his chances of returning to the club next year seem bleak.
