Ray Parlour suggest Arsenal to land Scott Parker – Premier League Update
Former Arsenal great, Ray Parlour has gone on to state that according to him, Arsenal should opt to make a move for Scott Parker in the near future.
The former Gunner made these comments in the wake of Arsenal being linked with a shock move for Newcastle United midfielder, Joey Barton.
When talking about his former team, Parlour is quoted to have said: “They do need strength in the midfield but I’d go for Scotty Parker.”
“He’s got all you need from a midfield player. He breaks things up, he’s a good tackler, he drives things on as he has done for West Ham. He’s been a one-man-team for West Ham this season so I would pick him.
“Joey Barton has knuckled down a bit better but he’s been playing on the right-hand side for Newcastle but for me the way Arsenal play I think Parker would fit in perfectly in that holding role in front of the back four.”
Parlour then went on to make a rather shocking suggestion, by stating that Tottenham Hotspur forward, Jermaine Defoe would be a rather brilliant signing for the Gunners to make.
The Spurs forward is currently being linked with a shock move to the Emirates and Parlour feels that, despite the move looking to be rather ludicrous on paper, it is one that could really benefit Arsenal.
It is easy to see where Parlour is coming from, when he makes these comments. This is because; Parker by all means has been one of the stand out players in the Premier League. In fact, the midfielder has even gone on to win the PFA Footballer of the Year
Award, which just goes to highlight his impact on the league, this past season.
However, with West Ham now being relegated, the player needs to find his way to newer pastures and perhaps http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, but he would also be able to perfect his trade and play at the highest level, before ultimately calling it quits.
On the other hand, Defoe’s move to Arsenal seems to be a rather unlikely one at the moment. Despite the striker being linked with a move away from the White Hart Lane, the chances of him joining his arch rivals, is a little low at the moment.
That being said, if Defoe does end up at the Emirates, it wouldn’t be considered one of the most bizarre things to happen in the world of modern football.
