  1. As long as its an ophthalmic quality frame (meaning not a pair of dollar store magnifyers) and it is in good shape and will work with your prescription, they should be able to do it. Some places will charge a nominal fee for using an outside frame. In the office I work in, we charged a "pattern fee". Our edging equipment used patterns and if the frame was not one of our own, it meant the lab technician had to fashion one by hand, which can be tricky and time consuming. Now that we have a patternless edger, and the machine traces the inside of the frame, we no longer have a fee.

Also, since the frame was purchased elsewhere, they may tell you that if something were to happen to the frame during processing, they can not be held responsible and they will not replace it for free and you will have to purchase one out-of-pocket.

Best thing to do is take the frame in with you, let them have a look at it and see what they say.

  2. Rayban Wayfarers will hold nearly any prescription and all labs are very familiar with working with it.  Cost is going to vary greatly depending on the lab you use, what your prescription is, and what options you add, a guess would be $60-$150.
