Rayman Legends heading to PlayStation Vita with additional levels and costumes – Gaming news
Ubisoft’s upcoming platformer Rayman Legends has been confirmed for PlayStation Vita.
That, however, is only half of the good news. According to a report by Eurogamer Spain, the latest addition in the Rayman franchise will be featuring extra levels and costumes in the Vita version.
From what is known so far, the Vita version will have five exclusive rear touch-pad levels. It will additional have two extra character costumes, which are bound to get the fans of the Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell franchise excited.
One of the character costumes to be featured in the Vita version of Rayman Legends is that of Prince of Persia, whereas the other costume will be that of Sam Fisher.
Aside from the alleged inclusion of five exclusive levels and two exclusive character costumes, that Vita version of the game will include all the content that will be featured in the console versions.
Rayman Legends is the direct sequel to Rayman Origins, which was released for multiple platforms in 2011.
With the previous title going on to win critical acclaim across the globe for its colour graphics and great sound, not to mention the immersive gameplay, the publisher and developer are committed to their aim of ensuring that the sequel does not fall short
of the expectations of the fans.
Rayman Legends has been in development for quite some time now. The first trailer of the game was leaked on the free video sharing website YouTube on April 27, 2012, though it was soon pulled off, followed by an official statement by the publisher that the
content shown in the trailer did not represent the final product.
The upcoming Rayman game was originally announced as a Wii U exclusive and was planned to be a launch title, slated for a November 2012 release.
However, not only did the game get delayed, Ubisoft recently announced that a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of the game is also in the works.
Developer Ubisoft Montpellier has utilised the game’s seven-month delay to add 30 additional levels and platform-specific pre-order bonuses.
Rayman Legends is slated for a September 2013 release across all platforms.
