Question:

Raymarine St40 trouble

I helping a friend install a second depth finder in his 42' sea ray.
He currently has a transducer hooked up to his Navigator system, but
wants a second one as a back up. We plan to cut in a raymarine ST40 but
I am wondering if they will interfer with each other. The existing
transducer is a 170K HZ. Not sure what the ST40 comes with yet.
We plan to mount the new transducer about 15' forward of the existing
one is this far enough? or is there nothing to worry about?
