Raymond Felton expected to play for New York Knicks on Wednesday night – NBA News
The New York Knicks have been on a roll ever since the start of this NBA season, and are only behind the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks are, therefore, looking to keep their winning ways going and the momentum alive and hence, have decided to play point guard Raymond Felton on Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.
Felton suffered a bone bruise on his non shooting hand during the Knicks last game, and was initially expected to miss a few games as he recovered from his injury. However, he thinks that he can play through the game with a bandage to protect his injury, and hence is most probably going to start for the team on Wednesday night.
“It’s going to be tough, but I’m going to play,” said Felton as reported by ESPNNewYork.com
Felton has had a turnaround season so far for the Knicks, after being acquired by them in the summer. He is leading the team from the front and getting good figures on a nightly basis. His minutes may be limited if the need arises after the Knicks also intend to bring Jason Kidd back into the squad for the game on Wednesday night. Kidd missed the last few games due to back spasms but expects to be ready for the game on Wednesday, although he may not start.
“Kidd says he’ll play against the Bobcats but might not start. Knicks coach Mike Woodson called Kidd “probable” and wants to see how the 39-year-old feels on Wednesday morning, presumably after the morning shoot around in Charlotte.“We’ll just have to play it by ear and see how he feels,” Woodson said. “It would be nice to have him back,”” reports ESPNNewYork.com
The game against the Bobcats is not a very difficult test for the Knicks, who have been playing with Pablo Prigioni is the absence of Kidd and Felton. However, they play the Miami Heat on Thursday night in a nationally televised game, and are looking to make a statement in that game. The probability may be that the Knicks want their regular starting roster ready for the game against Miami and are looking to give them a good practice in the game against the Bobcats.
