An entertaining six goal second half at the Vicente Calderon saw Atletico Madrid clinch an important victory against cross town rivals, Rayo Vallecano.
Mario Suarez scored the only goal of the first half, before three goals from Atletico in the first 10 minutes and three by Rayo in the final 10 minutes saw the entertaining match come to a close.

“We scored four but it was a shame we let them get three and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth.”
“However, the most important thing is that we won and we’ll need to continue playing the same way to get even more victories.”
“We are happy to have won and with the way we played but we’ll have to try and make sure we don’t commit the same mistakes again,” he told a Press conference.

“I feel good, my goal helped the team and I thank the Coach for showing confidence in me.
“I’m dedicated to improving every day and that’s what I’m doing,” he added.
The result leaves Atletico Madrid leapfrog Rayo Vallecano as both teams have 7 points in La Liga rankings table with the Vicente Calderon based outfit playing a game less.
