Question:

Rays vs. Marlins World Series?

In the A.L the Angels are a complete sham as they play in a weak division, the white sox, twins & yanks are all pretenders & the rays & red sox are the only legit teams. The rays will beat the red sox in the a.l.c.s. In the N.L the d-backs, dodgers, brewers, cardinals, mets & phillies are all pretenders, the marlins will upset the cubs in the n.l.c.s. Marlins will win the world series in 6 games?

  1. I'm sorry, was that a question or a prediction?

You say they're all "pretenders" yet you don't give any reasons why you think they are. I'm not an Angel fan but they're a "pretender"? If you're so confident on your prediction, come to Vegas and put all your money on one of those team to get to the World Series. I doubt you'd do it so don't waste our time posting nonsense.

  2. Neither one will make the World Series, although Tampa Bay has the better shot of the two. The AL is either going to be the L.A. Angels or Boston Red Sox and the NL will either be the Cubs or Brewers.

  3. Ok listen up, bias fan

How can you call the Philles, Mets, Cardinals, Brewers, Yanks, Sox, and Twins all pretenders when they have a much better record than the Marlins.  So are you also saying the Marlins are just pretending losers?

Dont even call the Angels a sham, they would whoop the Fish up and down Tallahassee.  They have pitching and offense.  Im an A's fan, so this is not a bias comment what-so-ever.  And who cares if it seems the Angels play in a weak divison, they still own the best record in baseball rite now.

Rays and red Sox only legit teams?  They have dominated baseball this year since the April.

And Marlins world series champs?  They really have to increase the drinking age of that state.

  4. not gonna happen.if the red sox are legit and the angels are sham how many games did the angels win out of 8.and whats there winning record against teams in the al east and al central.

    ANGELS R #1!

NO ONE CAN MATCHUP WITH THEM.

    ANGELS 2008 CHAMPS!

  5. Definitely not.

  6. noooo nooo nooo way will that happen.  yes, there is a chance for an upset(we all love them in some way!) but it will be a cubs and angels world series, with them going head to head...

  7. that wont happen. both teams are too young and will fold once august comes around. I say its Rays, Twins, Angels (duh), and Yanks in the AL playoffs, Angels make it to the series. Phils, Cubs, DBacks, and Brewers in the NL playoffs, Cubs make it. Then the Cubs (as ordered on by Dark Lord Bud Selig) will win the World Series in 6 at Wrigley, because if the cubs win it on the 100th anneversary at their park, it will mean big $$$ for baseball

  8. Maybe the rays might make it to the ws.  The nl has a good chance to win the series this year.  :)

  9. I don't see that happening. Marlins are a fluke & while i give the Rays credit & may possibly make the playoffs i would be suprised if they pass the 1sr Round.

  10. Good things: entertaining matchup, someone will come up with an idiotic "Disney" angle since Orlando is between them (that's not very accurate geographically, I know, but (a) there's not much else of note twixt Tampa and Miami and (b) it's a lot harder to market the Everglades, whereas Disney comes pre-packaged), Fox's ratings will suck big time.

Bad things: real chance that the Marlins might win, which while good for the team, is the sort of good fortune that owner/mendicant Jeff Loria does not at all deserve in this or his next five lifetimes. Mascot Billy Marlin (is he still around?) on national television. Tropicana Dome not a very good baseball venue, and no aerial shots from the blimp.

  11. First, the marlins have to get back into first place before we can start talking about a playoff run by the Marlins. I don't know if the Marlins have the consistency to win the world series but they certainly could win the division. The Rays probably have a larger chance to go to the world series but the Rays own the marlins in 6 games this season.

  12. there is no way that will happen this year

way way way too young on both side no experience

  13. There is no problem going with two long shots but you make it sound as if it were a done deal.  There are actually two chances your scenario will happen, slim and none.

  14. umm...

you are wrong on virtually every front
