Razldazl George already seems to be the most favourite among the lineup and is the only contender who is racing his seasonal debut today. Kinloch Brae’s four-year-old brindle son out of b***h Razldazl Pearl, has been practicing lately and has come out of
a long break which has the connections and crowds curious about his performance in today’s event.
He has had quite a constructive 2011 season with a hat trick that followed two races in which he scored second and then again bagged the final race of the season.
Razldazl George claimed the first leg of the hat trick by winning the Ladbrokes.Com Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 24 on 6th August 2011 at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards.
The ½ favourite of the race leapt through the track distance in 29.88 seconds and led the field by eleven lengths. Finishing the race closest to the winner by clocking the same distance in 30.76 seconds was Soviet Marco. The third hound to join the winner
and the runner up on the other end of the wire was Rockchase Zico.
Then on 13th August, Razldazl George claimed the 2011 Ladbrokes.Com Irish Greyhound Derby Round 2 Heat 10 at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards. The 11/10 favourite of the race concluded the event in 29.54 seconds with two lengths under his belt.
Parking right next to the winner was Droopys Twirl who timed the distance in 29.70 seconds.
Stationing third behind the winner was Mozzletoff.
The third and final stroke for achieving the hat trick came on 20th August in the form of Ladbrokes.Com Irish Greyhound Derby Round 3 Heat 6 at Shelbourne Park over 550 yards.
Sent as a favourite third time straight, the 6/4 favourite of the race made it to the other end of the wire in 29.84 seconds and putt Melodys Royal into the second spot by a length’s lead.
How he will make the most out of the seasonal debut, will not take long to unveil.
