I have a Hpi evo, just wondring how often do i have to clean out the engine with wd-40? I heard after every day you run it... IDK

How do you adjust the brakes? It is not powerful enough. My t-maxx is a bit different.

How do I get the most power without damaging the engine and not paying for a bunch of stuff?

ThANKS in advance. =D

  1. There are people who say to lube in it after every run and there are people who don't after-run.  Really you don't need to unless your going to store it for over a week (but remember if your storing it outside where it is humid then you should after-run it) .  WD-40 can used as after-run oil, but there are cheap ones made specifically for nitro engines that you can buy online like towerhobbies.com.  Just a note, this is not crucial but you should always move your piston to BDC (bottom dead center) right after shutting off the engine to avoid pinching your piston with the cooling of the metals.

*I never really after-run my engine unless its going to be stored for a while.

You can adjust the brakes by moving the stoppers on the linkage but that won't always make it stronger unless they need to be moved.  A new servo would make it brake better, can be bought for about $30 for a pretty good one (I like Futuba).  Also if the pads and plates are worn, you can roughen the surface with sandpaper (don't sand in the same motion as the brake pad would do because then you'll just make it worse).  Try looking for a different brake pad online, it doesn't even necessarily have to be made for your car, you can mod it to fit different cars.  (I have made a custom drum brake for one of my RCs that works phenomenal so if you think you can make one, go for it!)

Free mods you can do for your engine are the widening exhaust port with a dremel and adding ports to your engine.  You can shorten your pipe for more top end and lengthen it for more low end power.  If your air filter is small and restricting then buy a new bigger one (http://www.motorsaverfilters.com/index.h... but this won't do much if yours is decent.  Good adjustment of the high speed needle is crucial, try to make your engine clean out.

  2. don't know about cars but my nitro engines for airplanes have an afterrun oil you can put in them instead of wd40. that's only if they are put up for a long time. the nitro has oil in it for short term lube
