Hi, i was going to get a 6ch walkera df36 eletric helicopter of ebay. Does anyone have one, and if so are they any good?

I have never flown a rc helicopter before but i can fly 4ch rc plane. Do i have to get someone to train me or can i learn myself? Also will 6ch and 4ch make a difference to me if i am learning how to fly one?

Many thanks,

Dan

  1. honestly not just df36 is bad but pretty much all Walkera heli's are bad. I've never owned one but I've helped tons of freinds and other's work on them and the qualitly is very poor. I've worked on 36 and the plastic was low grade, had brushed motor, and head design was sloppy...but it was the best of the walkera's I've seen.

If you want to get into heli's for less money consider E-sky, they have belt cp and king v2 that are easy to learn on and dirt cheap to repair. Align makes great heli's and eflite makes a good RTF package as well but more expensive, The best heli's out there are always one's you build yourself with custom electronics.

It can be hard to adjust from plane to helicopter but if you follow the simple rules that make them differ it becomes easy as time goes by. 6 channel give's you the freedom of flying 3D when the time comes. 4 channel heli's are limited to flying upright and can only do sport flying. It's almost always easier to just start out and learn on a 6channel than 4. Both can fly with the exact same inputs in your transmitter. 6 channels are just better in many ways.

    cheers

  2. If you could fly a 4channel plane, you could fly a helicopter. The difference is just the helicopter could stay in one place. Also, that helicopter is pretty decent. I recall someone at a park flying meet have one. It flew very well. The 6 channel and 4 channel will not make a difference. 5 channels is all you really need. I never used a 6 channel before, but the 4 channels are for the control, 5th channel for the heading lock gyro, and 6 is for navigation lights or whatever you want. You learn the same way you fly a plane, unless of course you are lying about it, which I hope you are not. If you never flew before, purchasing this helicopter will be a big mistake.  You can learn on your own if you flew a plane before. Be sure to purchase training gears, and fly a few inches off the ground and in a open space. If you have any more questions, just message me.
