Re; Intex pools-anyone have problems putting pools on sloped surface?

Our patio is flat, but in setting up our pool we've discovered it slopes down about 2 1/2 inches. We've set our pool up (round, 15' w/metal poles) and ther is more water on one side. The manufacturer discourges this. Has anyone had any similar problems. We fear a blow out, but it feels stable, it's our only big enough location. Advice and experience would be appreciated.

Thanks.

  1. Yes i have had 3 of them and leveling is the most important....You have two options..You can take it down ..and have a concrete patch poured over it to level it..or even go buy some sand and start from the high side with about 1/4 inch of sand  and gradually build it up to about 3 inches of sand to the low side(this is to allow for the 1/4 inch on the high side and another 1/4 inch for the settling and compacting it will do when the weight of the water compacts it..You can buy a little string level for about 4 dollars to make it work evenly..do wet the sand alot after laying it down for it to compact some ..sprinkle it gently with a misting nozzle..do not use a high pressure and blow it off...

  2. It may or may not be a problem.  The only think that worries me is that it's on quite a hard surface and that can be dangerous.

  3. yeah i bought one too

10 feet round and one side has more water then the other

i thought it was weird cuz the ground is level

but nothing has happened to ours yet and ours 2 dogs swim in it too
