Plavix (Clopidogrel) is a platelet aggregation inhibitor. It works by slowing or stopping platelets from sticking to blood vessel walls or injured tissues.

It is more often used for reducing the risk of stroke or heart attack in patients who have already had a heart attack or stroke, or have other circulatory problems due to narrowing and hardening of the arteries.

The following side effects are associated with Clopidogrel :

a) Common side effects:

- Acute Infection of the Nose, Throat or Sinus

- Pain

- Chest Pain

- Large Purple or Brown Skin Blotches

- Indigestion

- Joint Pain

- Backache

- Dizzy

- Flu-Like Symptoms

- Head Pain

- Stomach Cramps

b) Infrequent side effects:

- High Blood Pressure

- Atrial Fibrillation

- Bronchitis

- Bleeding of the Stomach or Intestines

- Urinary Tract Infection

- Feeling Faint

- Visible Water Retention

- Nosebleed

- Heart Throbbing or Pounding

- Trouble Breathing

- Gout

- Depression

- Inflammation of the Nose

- Incomplete or Infrequent Bowel Movements
