When did your postpartum weight loss plateau, and did you find that you were ever able to lose weight after that without a lot of effort? If you did have to make a big effort, what worked for you and how long did it take to lose the weight?

  1. i am currently cutting down on what i eat (regardless of what hubby says lol) and excercising everyday..like jsut going for a long walk each day with bubs in the pram..i do it around nap time cos he just nods off asleep when hes in it and take some time out for myself... if i need something bad for me i allow a tiny bit of it otherwise ill binge later lol..i have lost weight which is good so its working

it jsust takes time, its taken 9 months to put the weight on so will take alot of time to get off completely... be prepared for ups and downs but you will get there good luck :)

  2. gosh. That is a tough one. I think postpartum weight loss is so individual to each and every woman. Some women don't have to make any effort, and the weight literally just falls off. LIke, I knew a woman who had the flatest tummy ever (like a wash board) only 2 weeks after giving birth! and that was her 3rd child!!

Whereas some women (e.g me!) had to work out, eat sensibly and finally it did come off. But boy, was I so demoralized working out, and became even more demoralized when I felt like the results were not fast enough. I think if memory serves (as my then baby, is now almost 3!) the weight (for me) really fell off without much effort when my daughter was nearly 2 years old. I quit running on the elliptical (40mins 3 times a week), and instead walked and biked. I ate less carbs. I actually lost a lot and got back into my size 8 (UK) clothing. It was so tough for me in the beginning. Trust me, I cried over my jelly belly forever!

Now, in all honesty, I feel like as my daughter is so energetic and I have so much going on, running around my weight stays off.

I did notice though, that my weight stays off if I start the day with protein, eg. egg white omellette. The minute I eat that with tomatoes, and veg, I am really full up until lunch. So right now, I still stick to a relatively low carb diet (note: relatively) and do mat pilates every day for 30 mins plus walking and the weight is staying off. yay!

    Hope this info helps.
