  1. They are still in the early stages - but it seems like the problem vegetables are not from the United States - but more than likely Mexico/shipped thru/from countries even south of them.  It was recently found in jalapenos and cilantro from outside of the United States.

Was on the evening news last night.

So my suggestion - don't buy things from south of the border.

  2. Are you related to “kent j” by any chance? He seems rather obsessed with Salmonella poisoning too.

As long as you thoroughly wash / scrub vegetables under free flowing water (if poss, filtered pure water) you should be ok.

If you are really worried you can first soak the veggies in a bowl of water with a teaspoon of organic unfiltered apple cider vinegar for 10 minutes, then wash thoroughly and rinse under free flowing water, so any remaining impurities are washed down the sink.

Of course, with meat you can’t do this so you have no way of knowing if it is infected until you have consumed it..........but that’s another story.

If you can’t have beef or veggies how about:

Any other flesh (chicken, pork, fowl, fish, seafood)

    Spiced tomatoes and lentils

Chickpeas and home sprouted beans sprouts

    Spiced potatoes with marinated tofu.

    .

  3. Salmonella is killed when it reaches a cooking tempature of 150F.  Any cooked for should be free of salmonella.
