It disgusts me! Shouldn't China be apologizing to families in the US for the children who died in America because of their poisonous toys and other products? Shouldn't they apologize for making athletes (who's health and endurance is a top priority) come to their polluted capital?

I would not be surprised if Chinese officials pressured the US Olympic Committee or American diplomats to "strongly recommend" the cyclists give an official apology.  After all, the American government tends to bow down to the command of their "red" Chinese masters, and they do not want to bite the hands that feed them (borrowing to perpetuate Middle Eastern conflicts).

Indeed, the Chinese people, themselves, wear face masks during Beijing's worst ozone days or during one of their annual dust storms that have become more common as a result of desertification, which, itself, resulted from unchecked and rampant overdevelopment in the surrounding areas.  Indeed, even the worst polluted American cities (LA, Pittsburgh, or Houston on any given day) pale in comparison to the Chinese average.  Their factories have been alleged to use chemicals and solvents that have been banned here in the US, Japan, and Western Europe so it's no surprise that 16 of the 20 worst polluted cities in the world are in China.

I think its really rude and very embarrasing. you dont see imigrants or visiters do that to us and trust me there are a lot of poluted cities here in the U.S. just go to El Paso Texas (i dont live there i visit there) and look towards mexico and you can barely see the horizon because of all the smog
