Question:

Re Zimbabwe. Have you heard?

Today (Wednesday) Nelson Mandela spoke out in London about Mugabe. The Queen stripped Mugabe of his knighthood. Desmond Tutu added his voice to the dissenters. Even George Bush finally said something intelligent about the sham Mugabe is calling an election. On tv, Mugabe ignored them all and made light of them.

Do you think this united verbal front, albeit a late in the day united verbal front, will make any difference?

I know it is hard to speak of Mugabe without using all the foul terms you know but Youngsters come on Yahoo Answers so could you please humour me and try to keep it somewhat civil? Thanks!

  1. To me, actions speak louder than words. Words being said against Mugabe won't bother him one jot. Someone needs to knock him off his podium and into the ground.

    Here's a lil joke:

Queen Elizabeth, Bill Clinton and Rob Mugabe die and go to h**l, but the devil has only one phone there.

Queen says “I miss my England, can I use your phone and hear how my people are doing down there?”

She calls and talks about five minutes.  Then she asks “Well devil, how much do I owe you for the call?”

The devil says “Five million pounds.”

She writes him a cheque and goes back to her chair.

Clinton wants to make a call too and says “I wanna call the US.”

He talks about ten minutes, then asks “How much do I owe you devil?”

The devil says “Ten million dollars.”

So he also writes a cheque and goes back to his seat.

Mugabe is jealous.  He says “I want to call Zim.”

He calls and talks for about an hour... then he asks the devil “How much do I owe you?”

The devil replies “Only one dollar.”

Mugabe is shocked and asks "Why so little?"

The devils says: “If you make a call from one h**l to another, it's a local call”

  2. lol @ Blue Bull

Yes I heard all of this as well. I can't believe he was given a knighthood in the first place!

Talking about it is not going to solve any problems, like people here say action needs to be taken and fast. UN/ USA/ UK always wait till it's far to late to do anything and lives have been lost. It was said that 100 people had died since the last elections in March, load of bull as there has been hundreds of silent deaths not to mention the thousands beaten up and physically scared. That figure was changed last night to 1000+ people being murdered because they didn't vote and were MDC supporters so that's 1000 votes lost in the run-off.

There is not fairness in Zimbabwe and until Mugabe is 6ft under there is no peace on earth. Why can't we just hire a hit man to take him out? There are plenty who are willing to do so.

  3. It is a little too late and he does not care anyway. He is not going to step down irrespective what the world is saying. hmm Make you laugh ......

    OK

Mugabe dies and goes to heaven. When he gets there, St. Peter tells him that he is not on the list and he does not belong in heaven.

Mugabe must go to h**l. So Mugabe goes to h**l where Satan gives him a hearty welcome and tells him to make himself at home. Then Mugabe notices that he left his luggage in heaven and tells Satan, who says "No problem, I'll send a couple of little devils to get your stuff."

When the little devils get to heaven they find the gates are locked St.Peter is having lunch - and they start debating what to do.

Finally one comes up with the idea that they should go over the wall and get the luggage. As they are climbing the wall, two little angels see them, and one angel says to the other, "My Lord, look at that! Mugabe has been in h**l no more than ten minutes and we're already getting refugees!"

  4. You really are stretching fact here:

Firstly the celebrity world's favourite Furby,Mandela, was laughed out of Court this morning on Sky News. James Whale said " I am fed up of Mandela coming over to the UK and being fawned over by celebrities. After all he is just an ex Terrorist and he hasnt said anything. We are told he doesnt want to upset African Leaders and that is the problem. He would have been better off staying in Africa and helping the Zimbabweans. After all the South African regime have nothing to be proud of." His words not mine.

The British Government stripped Mugabe of his honorary knighthood - not the Queen. She is merely a figurehead in the issue.

Tutu is a senile old f**t that very few pay attention to and he has forgotten that he infamously stated that

"It was the work of God" when Mugabe took power in a British rigged election process. Tutu is a false prophet who owes his status to the celebrity World but in the real World he is regarded as another deranged African pastor masquerading as a Christian.

  5. South Africa stopped support of Rhodesia way back and that was the beginning of the end; capitulation to terrorist despots!

Alf Garnett: Once again, you nailed it!

  6. Nice one BB , I agree with Slipperman , speaking out about it is not good enough , some action needs to be taken immediately.

  7. LOL - I almost believed you until you said Bush said something intelligent...

I think the days of verbal warnings and threats are over - if no military action is taken (call it a Peace keeping force if you like) then NOTHING is going to change...

I heed your warning about keeping it civil and I find it extremely difficult when it comes to that despot....

  8. This is a way of dictators and many so called freedom fighters who become leaders of countries. They are drunk with power , greed and status and believe that they are the Chosen ones. Now with so many spineless leaders in Africa who follow the same path and pattern of leadership as Mugabe that goes for South Africa too.Now is  not the time to stand up to be heard that has long passed .Now all of them are guilty for standing by while their friend Mugabe was doing the war dance years ago.Mugabe was a hero and if he stood down five to ten years ago his legacy and knighthood would still have the sparkle.
