It's too late now... all vets are closed and she has a very hard lump on her stomach as if a bone is dislocated.. it hurts her when touched I SWEAR it wasn't there an hour ago! and she's been asleep the whole time? Maybe she jumped off of where she likes to sleep and got hurt? Please help!

Okay I took away her food, and left water for her. I took away her toys... Anyone know how much this will cost? I will borrow money if I need to, I called an emergency vet and they are asking 65$ just to see her and additional costs to treat whatever is wrong with her.. That's pretty steep. I will wait for the morning.. It doesn't seem to bother her unless it's touched. She's sleeping now.. does anyone know average costs for removing the umbilical hernia? if that's what it is... How much am I looking to pay so she's better?

  1. Where exactly is this lump?  Can you describe it in detail?

I have found a similar lump on all of my cats, in the same location... high on the abdominal area.  They don't like when I press it, but it is obviously part of their normal anatomy.  I can only feel it when they are relaxed an on their back, exposing their tummies to me to rub.

If your kitten's lump is very similar, I would not be worried unless it gets bigger or she shows other symptoms of illness or discomfort.  If it's not life-threatening, wait to take her to the vet until normal hours so you can avoid paying the "emergency" fee.

  2. How old is the kitten?  They are kittens and rebound really fast.  Just wait until tomorrow morning and call someone. Just watch her tonight and see if there is something she is not doing, like jumping, or walking with a limp or maybe not moving at all.

  3. if you're really strapped and cant afford it, then wait until the vet is non emergency

    but then, take her in

only a vet can tell you for sure
