Re-decorating the basement!?

Question

okay im 14 years old going on 15, and i was thinking about moving down in the basement. And the basement now is decorated wit my dads stuff like motorcycle pictures and stuff like that.(thats gotta go!) And i wanna re-do it, but not really sure how... here is some things i like so it will help get an idea of me. i like blue and red, sports, i like oceans and water stuff im athletic,and im not really a girly girl.... so please help!!! links would be helpful! thanks!

if you use medium and dark blue walls, and a lot of subtle lighting that you can control, you can make it look like you are underwater.

use silver accents.  

you might want to paint or put big pictures of coral on the walls.

Buy a decorative fish net (you can get them on eBay under "nautical fish"). Mount on the wall or hang from ceiling, then attach little boats, starfish, fish -- anything that has the ocean theme (I did this ocean theme in my living room; its really cool). Also maybe hang an anchor wheel mirror, or purchase wooden shelves and hot-glue items on the shelf for a decoration -- small colorful fish, shells, etc. -- pointbreeze

First, you must address the fact that a basement will not have as much light as a standard bedroom would.  

Compensate for that by painting the walls a light blue color, and adding plenty of lighting.  Indirect lighting on each wall would certainly brighten up this basement.

An ocean theme would be good.  Sand colored floor, white ceiling, and a painted mural like one of those aquarium scenes on each wall (each one different. )  You could take one wall, paint it medium ocean blue, hang a net and put starfish and other shells and net floats on it.  

A tank of fish would be so cool.  Just make sure they have plenty of light, as a basement can be very dark.
