Natural Medication for depression...9months after having a child?

I am sure I am going through depression.

I get so upset so easy. Its weird, I love being a mom and wife, I wouldnt ever choose anything different. But I feel so upset all the time. Sometimes I just cry. I am sure that being at home all the time without getting a break doesnt help. Sometimes I think I just want to die, but I wouldnt ever harm myself. I know my husband and kids need me.

What I need to know is if there is a natural Liquid supplement or tablet I can take. I cant take Geltabs or Capsules, they make me vomit.

  1. Any depression for one year after the birth of a child is considered post-partum. So there are several things you can do. Herbal crud for depression has been demonstrated to be pretty useless as a general rule so there's a couple things:

Estrogen based birth control - either low dose or triphasic. Pregnancy is a pretty massive hormonal change and things can be out of whack for a while. This can help sort of 'kick start' your body back into a normal rhythm. Avoid POP or progesterin based treatments like depo-provera, as they tend to aggravate existing depression despite their enormous utility.

Standard treatment for depression. Short term antidepressants, therapy. Generally you don't need this for a long period of time. A couple months if that.

And as always maintain a normal, healthy diet. Don't load up on vitamins and minerals. Just normal caloric intake, well balanced food groups.
