  1. um try minty green wall color some kittens and a nice coffee table and a cute couch with cute pillows

  2. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a pale green like "rice paddy" (# 6414) would look terrific.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  3. I loveee PB Teen, but their stuff is so expensive. But I really like the color of the walls best in the first one. It's cute.

  4. Keep Searching.

  5. if you like the whole modern floral thing, check Target for the Isaac Mizrahi collections. Couple years ago he put out the white comforter with the giant hot pink daisy. I'm sure you have seen it...his latest work is similar but I think peony, and another in a silhouette pattern. Anyway...modern floral, very trendy and feminine without being super girly girly. And you can get other color coordinated stuff.

You can also ask mom if you are allowed to paint the furniture you have to keep.

Remember that there are many more neutrals other than tans, creams, grays, whites, and black. Any pastel that is almost white is considered a neutral and really compliments a LOT of things, it is considered very subtle without being boring.

Throw pillows are very cheap nowdays. Try Big Lots, or Ross, Steinmart. Or make some with Walmart 1.00 per yard fabric. Cheap cheap and very easy/no sewing. You can also buy blanket fleece, sew two coordinating pieces together and cut fringe around the edges for cuddly throw blankets....giving you a customized blanket in about an hour for about 10 bucks (approx 5.00 per yard).

Try accent lighting for some inexpensive drama. Hockey puck uplights, tap lights, etc.

You can also decorate with picture frames, plants, and organizing tools like baskets and bins.

AND DO come up with an organizing plan, and a cleaning schedule for yourself, in among all this decorating. That way after the room is beautiful, you will be able to keep it that way.

  6. Are these the only sets you like? I'm not too fond of any of them myself! Sorry!
