Re-entering US from Canada with a Permanent Resident Card- still conditional

What documents does a Permanent US Resident (Green Card Holder) need to get back into the US after a few days in Canada? Will a Perm. Res. Card work- the conditions have not yet been removed but the card is valid. Also have a valid DL.

  1. hi, actually whatever u are holding the greencard or conditional greencard, u are US resident, there is no difference.  The conditional greencard is issued to ppls getting married in the short time among applying US greencard only.

    If u are holding the US greencard, when u come back from canada, u must have your US greencard and your origin country's passport together, that is enough.  hope it can help.


  2. You need your DL as a photo I.D. and your green card.   The conditional status just means it has to be re-newed in 2 years but makes no difference in using your green card to leave and re-enter the country.
