I recently took in my boyfriends cousins dog who he did not take care of. i would love to keep him, but i already have my hands full with two other dogs. Anybody know any websites or any ways to find him a good home? Nobody seems to be coming through and school is starting on Monday and I would hate to have to leave him at home all day.

I would insert a picture but I do not know how. He is such a beautiful dog. He is a blue pitbull with blue eyes and I want to make sure he has a good life.

  1. I would do a quick search of rescue groups in your area. Try Petfinder.com and search by zip code, or Google for, e.g., "pitbull rescue."

If you can find a rescue that specializes in pitbull adoption, all the better, since they're probably best equipped to place your puppy with a loving home.

I would advise NOT giving him away for free or for a nominal fee to someone you don't know and trust to avoid having him end up in the wrong hands.

Good luck to both of you!

  2. Have you contacted a breed specific rescue in your area or maybe a no kill shelter

  3. Try craigslist.org, but be careful about re-homing pits there; screen potential homes thoroughly.

Find a pit rescue in your area; google it.

  4. I re-homed a puppy on craigslist.  I sent a pic from my cell phone to my email and got it on ad.  Asked for a small re-homing fee of $50 for a coton (fancy fluffy breed).  Then spent an hour w/ new owners and dog to make sure all got along and knew what was in store.  Then next day met them again for a long time to make didn't change minds.  Talk to potential adopters for a while and take dog w/ you to see how they interact.  And give yourself a day to decide if they are the right people for the dog.  Good luck!

  5. Have you tried Craigslist?

  6. If you already have pictures, go to photobucket and create an account, then upload the picture/s and copy the link that said "Direct Link" then past right on here.

I would not take him to a shelter because Pit Bulls have a bad reputation and are usually the first to be euthanized unless it's a no-kill shelter. What I would suggest is finding relatives or friends, see if they are interested. You can also check out craigslist.org or kijiji.com there is a lot of Pit Bulls for adoption and sale. Maybe check out online for areas around you that do a Pit Bull Rescue.

Edit: Yeah, some people are like that. Nothing better to do with their lives. I would recommend Kijiji because there is no flaggers and you can sale. :)
