Re-setting sound on computer?

My speakers are getting messed up in the A and making things sound like chipmunks. it's cool.. but i wanna hear my music normally now haha.

so i was wondering if there is a way i can reset my sound setting on my computer.

ps. i have windows xp. thanks a ton.

  1. Go to control panel. sound device setting. there go to the second tab and restore windows defaults.


  2. Ok. this is what you do: 1: Either replug your speakers in. 2. Reinstall the audio software on the computer. 3. Update the audio software. 4. Go to the boot Menu(when you turn computer on press f2 a couple of times,) (and if its not f2 it will say it when your comp turns on) click onto integrated audio and it will say on or off. If it is set to off set it to on. If it is on "on" set it to off restart the computer and put it to on again.
