Re why do people act so judgemental when they dont know the situation?

People tend to act more judgemental when they don't empathize with you.  That is, when they see you and your life as something so different from theirs that they cannot identify.  An empathetic person will find it easy to identify with other people, regardless of how different that person seems.  Most people, though, have a harder time with it.  Giving more information gives people more opportunities to latch on to something with which to identify.  

That's not to say that you need to give that much information just to keep people from being critical.    Give just as much as you are comfortable with, of course.  However, when people have a hard time identifying with you, you may want to try to practice that gentle skill of empathy youself.  

Have you ever jumped to a conclusion?  What was going on with you when that happened?  How did that affect other people?  

Also, another interesting path for self-knowlege is to question why it bothers you if other people are cricical.  (I, personally, understand why it would because I've been there before.  However, this is about having a conversation with yoursef.)  Does it help you to be bothered by it?  Does this reaction get you closer to or farther from your goals?

Anyway, perhaps this is all just rambling.  In general, I think we could all do with a better sense of empathy.  I know I'm working on it!

I have often wondered that myself.  Some people see only the bad in people and others see the good as well. Then there are some amazing people out there that see it all and still see only the good. Those people that make judgments without all the facts are really missing out on the most beautiful things in life like true love and real friendships. Had I made judgments when I met my husband twenty years ago based on what I had heard and the clothes he was wearing I would have missed out on the most amazing love story ever lived.

I can here that you are some one that like people to tell you only what you want to here!!. you do not want to here the truth and that's very bad because that tells me that you are conseated and will never learn any thing @ all because you are stubborn. If you fiend a person that tells you what you want to here you and them would be the best friend for life that

would be DUMB and DUMBER.  HAHAHAHAHA.. You have to open your mind and learn while your teaching others. So you see that you do not have to give me any more like a full history / background of your self for me to tell you who you are. The first few words in your writing tells me every thing !!!

If you ask a question, you are asking for judgement of a sort, because you will get opinions based on peoples experience and outlook, judgement in other words, so all you can do is sift the wheat from the chaff and hope you get some good ideas from it!

Sometimes it's due to mental laziness--grab the easiest answer that comes to you.  I think this is a prevalent characteristic of human nature, take the easy pathway.

Some like to hear themselves talk (or see themselves write).
