Question

I have not been in school for about 8 years. I will be taking a grad class in communication systems using Matlab. Can you recommend a good book(s) that covers the fundamentals?

Linear Signals and Systems by Lathi is great.

At MIT we use Signals and Systems by Oppenheim, although I find this to be too wordy.
