is the correct answer S O2 --> SO2

or S8 8O2 --> 8O2?

    Is the correct equation.

    It can produce the trioxide which is the precursor to sulphuric acid, but this often requires a lot more energy and a catalyst.

    2S + 3O2  --->  2 SO3
