Would Abe Lincoln have had the support of the free state if his top priority was to restore the union instead of freeing the slaves? expain your answer please......

Lincoln's top priority was to save the Union.  He was supported by people who wanted the Union to be saved.  His main goal was not to free the slaves but was to unite the Union.  He freed the slaves in the States that were rebelling, an area where he had no real control.  If it would have saved the Union to keep slavery he would have done that.  It was not until later in his life that he actually supported the stopping of the slave trade because it was immoral and not because it would save the Union.
