  1. I'm sorry, but your question doesn't make any sense you should try rephrasing it with a bit clearer meaning

  2. I don't agree. Miserable people tend to be miserable wherever they go. It is their fault not the place that they visit.

  3. Depends on what the other 29 places were.  It's hard to judge between one country and another.  That stuff is so subjective.

  4. Yes. I totally agree. Manners are not common in Singapore. I'm a lady and I got doors slammed on my face many times by men. Plus, I hold the door for them! About 90% of the locals do not thank me as opposed to 100% foreigners (even the foreign maids) who thanked me for holding the door for them.

I've seen women who were heavily pregnant who had to stand for 20 mins before someone who were carrying a whole lot of things or sometimes, old ladies, gave up their seats on public transport. I even overheard a bratty, healthy young man commented to his equally bratty girlfriend that pregnant ladies should have known better to take a cab than take public transport.

We are a snooty society with high expectations from others. We think that when people hold doors, they are supposed to do so and do not deserve a thank you. Have you seen how people treat their domestic helpers here? Listen to how they talk to them. I feel really bad for them. The question is, if we have such high expectations from others, shouldn't we have high expectations from ourselves? What happened to the do-onto-others thing?

  5. Agree

  6. I strongly agree with the ranking. We have a long lway to improve our service in all sectors (starting with taxi drivers, bus drivers).

  7. I agree.  I tried it out the other day (open the door for this high class looking lady), she walked pass without uttering a single word.  And when she reach another set of doors, she open it walked through and letting it slam into my face as if she doesn't know that I was just behind her.  Sigh...

  8. yea. Agree. so sad...
