Reading Glasses to Intermediate?

My Reading glasses have an ADD factor of +2.50. What ADD factor would I require to change to a pair of Intermediate glasses for computer work?

  1. Maybe something like +1.75 or so.


  2. The distance for computer is usually about 1/3 less than the full reading power, which would bring you to + 1.50 or  + 1.75..you may find the + 1.75 a bit easier for using the keyboard, although you may also have to bring the monitor a couple of inches closer than with the + 1.50

    True intermediate power, like the center portion of a tri-focal is 1/2 of the reading power ( +1.25 ), but that usually isn't quite enough for the computer use....so 1/3 works out better.
