Reading TABS?

Question

i wanna learn to play the guitar, i have a guitar, and i know the letters like, E, etc.

but i cannot read tabs with all the lines, dots, frets, numbers, and letters. any website that teaches you step by step for beginners?? i have songs, i have an OK voice, which i can improve by the help of my sister, and i wanna put the songs to music..please help. much appriciated

Go to a music store and buy any book that contains tabs. You can pick one with your favorite band. In the beginning it will explain how to read tabs. It's very easy the 6 lines represent the strings and the #'s are the notes on that particular string. A line of #'s is a chord a diagram of that chord should be right above it. There are many web sites to teach you to play but I recommend getting a good book or take lessons to get you started.
