The former Slough Town coach has admitted that his troops will face a stern test against the Spurs in their upcoming English Premier League game on Tuesday, but has expressed confidence that they will manage to claim a good result.
Reading head coach, Brian McDermott, has expressed confidence ahead of his side’s upcoming Premier League game against Tottenham Hotspur. The two sides will meet at White Hart Lane on Tuesday, January 1.
The Spurs are heading into the game on the back of two successive victories against Aston Villa and Sunderland respectively. And the 51-year-old tactician has admitted that the Spurs have been staging impressive shows in the recent weeks.
“I watched their game on Saturday when they won at Sunderland, we know their quality, White Hart Lane is difficult but we'll relish it”, McDermott was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.

The Welsh attacker and the Icelandic midfield maestro’s performances have thus far played an integral role in the Spurs rise to the fourth place in the Premier League standings this term.
“Bale is a top player but they're not a one-man team. They have Gylfi who we had since 14, top lad and top player. They played well when they came here. We now need to go there, be right and compete”, McDermott added.
After starting the 2012/13 campaign poorly, the Royals have started to grind out decent results in the recent weeks, claiming four points in their last three league encounters.
And the English trainer has admitted that his side’s recent performances have boosted everyone’s morale at the club, and they will try their utmost to continue performing brightly.
“I'm looking forward to it [Spurs]. We went to Man City and pushed them right to the wire. It's important that we got four points from the past two games - it gives us a real fillip”, McDermott concluded.
Reading are currently sitting 19th on the table, five points adrift of the safety zone.
