Reading FC head coach, Brian McDermott, has slammed out at recent media reports that he could be sacked at Madejski Stadium to be replaced with PSV Eindhoven boss, d**k Advocaat.
The Royals earned promotion to the English Premier League after lifting the Npower Championship title at the end of the 2011/12 campaign. However, the newly promoted outfit have thus far failed to adjust with the pace of the English top flight football,
and have been struggling to achieve good results.
Occupying the 18th spot on the league table, the Royals have yet to register their maiden victory in the highest echelons of English football this term.
Following the club’s poor showings, reports in English media suggested that the club management would be dismissing McDermott, and the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 Eindhoven head coach, d**k Advocaat, will be taking over the managerial hot seat at Madejski Stadium.
However, the former Cardiff City midfielder has mooted all speculations, and has stressed that he has not heard any such thing.
“d**k is a decent manager but I haven't actually read anything. It is pretty sad to have conversations like this really I think. You have a bunch of people here absolutely trying their best to the nth degree at the club”, McDermott was quoted as saying to
the media.
Advocaat, who took the reins of PSV before the start of the 2012/13 season, has led his new side brilliantly to occupy the top spot on the league table. In addition, the veteran Dutch tactician has enforced aggressive football at Philips Stadion that has
led the club to bag all three points consistently thus far at ease.
Reading, who have failed to win any of their opening 10 league games thus far, will lock horns against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 at Madejski Stadium on Saturday, November 17.
McDermott would be hoping that his side could put behind their poor run of form, and start grinding out good results starting against the Toffees.
