  1. You quite possibly have some astigmatism that should be corrected with proper reading glasses .

Over the counter readers can't do that.

You need an eye exam to determine exactly what you need.

You don't necessarily have the same requirements in both eyes either.

  2. have you had an eye test and had glasses prescribed? or are these ready readers/off the shelf glasses that you have just tested and thought were your prescription?

If they are prescribed glasses from an optometrist and your having these problems, go back, they will re test your eyes and if the prescription is wrong the will re-make your glasses, all free of charge, problem solved.

If these are off the shelf ready readers, the are not good for your eyes.

Your lenses have a centre point, and your eyes have a measurement that needs to be taken by an optometrist or optical assistant the centre point of the lens is cut into the frame so that when its measured, centre point of the right lense straight across the bridge to the left lense its the same distance apart as your eye measurement, this means your eyes are naturally looking through the correct point. With off the shelf glasses, you guess your prescription whic is probably guessed wrong, and obviously they are universal so they are just set anywhere which means the centre of the lenses are different to your eye measurement which means your eyes are being drawn towards the centre point (this is were the power is held that you need to read) so your eyes are being pulledinwards or outwards, thiscauses dizzyness and eye strain.

    hope this helps,

    take care xx
