What age is the Diary Of Anne Frank a good age to start reading?

I want to read it but I was just wondering if it would be More for little kids. (I'm in grade 7) I also like books about the war.

AND

Is there any other books about this time that you would suggest for me?

Thanks, 10 points!

  1. Diary of Anne Frank is fine for your age. Middle schools use it a lot in their curriculum.

I also recommend Milkweed by Jerry Spinelli it is about the kids who live during WWII in the Warsaw Ghetto in Poland. It is really good.

The Book Thief is also great but is a more challenging read. You could try it and see for yourself.

  2. Night by Elie Weisel

  3. I read Anne Frank when I was 11 or 12. I feel bad saying this, but I hated it. Reading someone else's diary, a real person's private thoughts and words, was just creepy to me. And for a kid, she tends to spend a heck of a lot of time describing room layouts and analyzing personal relationships. It was boring. I've read enough books about how bad the Holocaust was, I don't need another one.
