Tottenham will take on Reading at the Madejski Stadium this weekend as both clubs continue the search for their first win in the Premier League.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas has come under a lot of pressure after he failed to deliver a win after three games. Tottenham had come close to grabbing wins at home against West Brom and Norwich City, but both teams grabbed last minute equalizers.
Reading are also without a win in the Premier League so far and have managed only one point from two games. The club came close to winning against Chelsea three weeks ago, but were denied by a penalty and last minute goal, losing the game 2-4.
Reading
Expected line up:
Adam Federici, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pavel-Pogrebnyak-c29501.
Reading achieved promotion last season and are now back in the English top flight. However, the Royals have not enjoyed an easy start to their Premier League campaign so far.
The club drew its Premier League opener against Stoke City at home and followed it up with a 4-2 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The Royals were 2-1 up till half time, but saw their lead vanish courtesy of a penalty and a controversial http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 scored the fourth towards the dying minutes of the game, putting the final nail in Reading’s coffin.
This weekend, the club will be eying all three points against a Tottenham side that is still settling in and is also without a win in the league.
Tottenham Hotspur
Expected line up:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422, Emmanuel Adebayor.
Tottenham are still without midfielder Scott Parker and will play Sandro in his position. New signing Dembele, who had an impressive debut last week against Norwich City will play in a box-to-box role, with Sigurdsson in front of him as the attacking midfielder.
Striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jan-Vertonghen-c17814 another start as the Belgian centre half looks forward to striking up a solid pairing with William
Gallas.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 will be on the bench for Tottenham, along with new signing Clint Dempsey. Tottenham will be hoping to secure all three points, but are in for a tough battle at the Madejski stadium.
Prediction
Tottenham are still relatively a new team, and often struggle in midfield and at the back. On paper, the Spurs squad is stronger and has more quality, but Reading will prove to be a force at home. I predict a 1-1 score line, with Adebayor and Pogrebnyak
on the score sheet for both clubs.
