Question:

Ready To Babysit??

I am going to take some classes sometime this year at American Red Cross and I've been getting info on babysitting all year long! I have talked to my mom and she seems very doubty on the idea but i want to do it anyway. I decided that I can do ages 1-8 years old. The problem is, I really don't know many kids or I just haven't got to meet them yet. Does anyone have any good ideas on how to get my services out there?

  1. babysitting and lifesaving are good skills to know on hand. tell ur mom this. i've taken the red cross babysitting course and its worth it! it teaches u infant and child cpr, what kind of activities and toys are appropriate for each age group and lots of other useful info.

  2. You could always post a flier or something at a community center or place with lots of kids around.

Or you could see if your mom has any friends with young children, or find young children in your neighborhood.

  3. I'm in the same boat as you so don't feel bad.  The first thing i would do is make some fliers and hand it out to an adult who is well known in the community.  Include your experience and information.  Thats all i got now but ill send u some more info later bye!

  4. I started with my family then family frends then there frends

  5. What i did was put a flyer and a couple business cards at a local daycare and my church that got direct attention from parents that needed a baysitter. now i have more than i can handle!!! i also put flyers out at my dance studio and had my parents share with theyre friends and my little siblings friends!

ps on your flyer definitely clarify that youre certified!
