  1. Reaganomics. He had to be a really great President for Connecticut to GO RED back then.

  2. Ronald tax policies where the purest form of the "trickle down theory of economics".  Give huge tax breaks to coporate America and the wealthiest 10% of Americans figuring they will reinvest that money into creating jobs and expanding business.  The fact is that those tax breaks didn't have the intended effects but what you actually got was a false belief in hope and prosperity that drove the economy to new levels.  Yet Bill Clinton had percentage wise far more ecomonic success than Regan did in driving the economy forward.

On the political front Regan used charm and devious timing like the freeing of the hostages to pole vault himself and America back into a dominant leadership roll in the world.  Then of course Regan went toe to toe with the Soviets and thankfully things worked out there.

  3. They did not work for the vast majority of middle class and the poor those were hard times.Trickle down economics does not work.

  4. Reagan's tax policies were the greatest joke ever played on the poor and middle class. They operated on the theory of "feed the horse to feed the sparrow." In other words, he cut taxes for the very richest of all Americans (as did George W. Bush) and then they would have had so much extra money some of it was sure to "trickle down" to the poor and middle class. Except it didn't work and like the tax policies of George W. Bush, the vast majority of Americans were left holding the bill so the rich could get RICHER.

Republicans also operate on the theory of "starving the beast," that is to say, they keep cutting taxes in order to shrink the size of our government. Less government means less regulations, means things can go back to the way they were when companies could pollute all they want, and poison us with chemicals in our food and violate our rights as employers. So why do they want smaller government? For the same reason criminals want fewer cops, it's easier to get away with murder.

  5. Wow, you may be able to change your world, but your failing at changing history. Reagan's economic policy was very simple, which is why Dub-ya copied it. The premise for Reagan-omics was this.

The government cut every bodies taxes, putting more money in every pocket. Then, these same people would then take that money and spend it. The people that received that money, would pay less of it to the government in taxes, and have more money to spend. This circle would go continuously, with only people that refused to work losing out.

  6. Reagan believed in a hard economic time it was important not to take more money out of the pockets of the citizens. He also believed that we need to combat inflation and that we needed to solve the energy crisis. He believed in smaller government.

  7. Voodoo Reaganomics  have devastated our economy - in the name of less Government he pulled off the govt. regulators and controllers  which allowed for the S&L mess first of the big bail outs, caused the bubbles, huge borrowing & Bush bungling big time.
