Real Betis vs. Barcelona – Spanish La Liga review (Part 2)
Barcelona were on song as soon as the game started. The Catalan giants put pressure on the away side and started to play their tiki-taka style-of-play.
La Blaugrana struggled for only a few minutes, but then once they came into their stride, it was hard for them to stop.
The visiting side did not take too long to open the scoring. It was an unusual goal scorer for Barcelona as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Busquets-c33048 found the back of the net with a header after Xavi Hernandez crossed the ball in from a corner kick.
Once Barcelona were in the lead, they had less to do and it was obvious to see how they wanted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 to get on the score sheet.
The Argentine star is in the race of winning the Pichichi award, and so is the Real Madrid star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629. However, there is no doubt that Messi will be the one to take the individual trophy home, as his 4-goal haul last week took his goal scoring
tally to fifty in a single La Liga season.
The first half ended with Barcelona leading the game 1-0. The Catalan giants were barely pressurized and they were the best side on the pitch. They were not only leading the game, they were also dominating possession and creating a lot of goal scoring opportunities.
With the second half starting, Barcelona again looked strong as they moved the ball around. Betis seemed to be getting tired as Josep Guardiola’s men rotated the ball throughout the pitch, as the home side kept chasing shadows.
Seydou Keita had an early opportunity in the second half, but his 12-yard shoot was blocked by Casto.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Alves had a good chance to find the second goal for Barcelona, but the ball touched his other foot and couldn’t really travel the way the Brazilian full-back wanted it to travel.
Betis game back into the game as Barcelona grew tired of moving the ball around. It was the Betis star, Ruben Castro, who scored the equalizer for the home team.
During the 71st minute, the substitute player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roque-Santa-Cruz-c31778, got the ball in the midfield and he perfectly flicked it towards Ruben Castro who made absolutely no mistake in finding the back of the net.
Valdes was off his line, and Ruben Castro lobbed the ball over the goalkeeper to score the first goal for Betis.
Soon, the Real Betis star managed to score his second goal of the night, which actually looked like a winner to the home side.
It was only 3 minutes after Betis’ first goal when Benat passed the ball on to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Castro-c8590 and he easily ran clear of Barcelona’s defence and found the back of the net.
However, in the stoppage time, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Keita-c33177 headed the ball into the back of the net, after Martin Montoya delivered a perfect cross into the penalty area.
The match ended with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 drawing the game 2-2, and taking 1 point from the last fixture of the Spanish La Liga.
