Real Earnest wins Hove Standard (Duplicated) at Hove
The black dog, Real Earnest, managed to seize first position by beating the most favourite runner, Mays Millhouse, in Hove Standard (Duplicated) Open Race of 515m category, on January 12, at Hove. He competed against Forest Hero, Mays Millhouse and
Fleetwood Rocker.
It was a nail-biting and thrilling race with Real Earnest and Forest Hero running side by side throughout the race.
Real Earnest broke from trap 1, bumping and leading first. Once the trainee of P A Thompson outstripped all, he sustained his pace and momentum till the end.
The son of Droopys Scolari completed the distance in 30.06 seconds. He had to wrest the victory from the jaws of Forest Hero, who accompanied him till the finish line.
As both, Real Earnest and Forest Hero, finished at the same time, the DH method was employed to decide the results.
Luckily, Real Earnest earned the top slot. It was the second top position for the dog since he started his career in August 2011, running in the 515m category for the very first time.
The victor’s trainer was delightful over winning the title, hoping that he will perpetuate his form in further events as well.
Forest Hero, despite strenuous struggle, had to to be content with second position. The fawn dog broke from trap 4, baulked first and ran on with immense pace.
Side by side with Real Earnest, eying the top spot, but all in vain. However, the trainee of D D Knight made the bookies realise that he has the potential to browbeat any big adversary of the sport.
Whelped in April 2009, the son of Forest Master started his career in June 2011. The game experts predict a promising future for him.
The third position went to the only favourite hound of the race, Mays Millhouse.
The black dog’s starting price was 4 to 6, and breaking from trap 6, the son of Last Bid started very well, but wilted in the middle.
He got bumped first and then got crowded, but managed to reach the finish line in 30.28 seconds, trailing by 2 ¾ lengths.
It was just the fifth race of the dog, who made his debut in December 2011.
At the end of the event, the topper bagged the first prize of £150, while each of the other racers earned £25.
