Real Estate Question - What is a Conversion Burner. Not all Homes Have It. Pro's and Con's??

There is one in a 4-plex I viewed. it is rented equipment not sure what the monthly rent is (probably around $20/month) but wanted to ask what it is used for? anyt potential insurance or maintenance issues etc.? THANKS.

A conversion burner was converted from one type of fuel to another.  But it is an ambiguous question without knowing what fuel the device was made to burn originally and what it is burning now (coal to oil or gas, oil to gas, LP to gas, etc.).

It sounds very strange that someone would rent heating equipment instead of buying it.
