Real Madrid's coach Jose Mourinho claims he was on brink of taking on England post
Jose Mourinho, the current coach of Real Madrid, has declared that he almost took over the job of coaching the national team of England in 2007.
The Portuguese, who is Chelsea’s ex-boss and has been a winner of the Champion’s League twice, said that he was on the verge of replacing Steve McClaren, but had second thoughts and decided to remain in club management.
“But at the last moment I began thinking, 'I am going to coach a national side, there will be one match a month and the rest of the time I will be in my office or supervising matches, and then will have to wait until summer to compete in a European Championship
or a World Cup'? No, it wasn't for me,” he said.
Mourinho left http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in September 2007, and claims he was approached by the Football Association, but he preferred to wait for the right job that suited him.
Mourinho said he wanted to prove himself by taking up a job that would provide him with a challenge, and he got that venture from Internazionale in June 2008.

He directed Internazionale to win the European Cup which the team had not held since 1965, and he also won Serie A in both his seasons in Italy.

Mourinho, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’, was signed as a manager for Real Madrid in 2010 for a four year period. He believes that he can steer Real Madrid to triumph if they have the conviction in them and accept him for who he is.
