Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho is a true phenomenon – Arrigo Sacchi
Former Real Madrid Director Arrigo Sacchi has showered the newly appointed Real Madrid coach with extravagant praise. “Jose Mourinho is worth of a case study, there is only one Mourinho and a replacement for him does not exist,” the legendary tactician reportedly
claimed about the Portuguese.
The Former Milan coach went on to praise the manager in a manner that depicts pure admiration, "Mourinho is a leader that brings out the best in his followers. His presence gives everyone the confidence and the will to try hard. He is a great tactician and
that is the truth. Denying that will be like denying the fact that the light of the day is followed by the darkness that a night brings”
Arrigo Sacchi is no stranger to success either. The Former Milan coach had arguably the best club team of all times at his disposal when he was in charge of AC Milan during a four year period from 1987 to 1991. The manager won a Serie A and two Champions
League trophies in that historic era. The Dutch trio of Marco Van Basten, Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard were purchased by AC Milan on Sacchi’s demand. The Dutch legends combined with the likes of Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi to form a team that many coaches
can only dream of.
Sacchi went on to praise the psychological impact that Mourinho has on his players, “Mourinho is not just a master of tactics, and he also directs his players psychologically”.
Real Madrid appointed Mourinho after the Portuguese won a historic treble with Inter Milan. The Galacticos are the most successful club in the primary continental competition with 9 trophies but a historic 10th trophy has eluded the club since
Fernando Hierro last lifted the trophy a decade back. Mourinho was seen as the only manager who could possibly bring the European glory back to Santiago Bernabeu and the club president paid Inter Milan a handsome amount just to hire the former Chelsea manager.
If Mourinho indeed wins the big eared trophy, he will surely go down as the best manager in the history of the beautiful game.
