Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho plans to snatch Cesc Fabregas right from under Barcelona’s nose
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho is planning to launch a £35m bid to sign Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas. According to the British tabloid
The Sun, a Real Madrid insider has reported that "Mourinho has decided to convince Cesc personally he can be the next leader of the team."
Rivals Barcelona have also had a long-running interest in 23-year-old Fabregas, who played with Barca as a youth player. The Barcelona-based
El Mundo Deportivo has reported that the club are keeping their symbolic number four shirt clear for the Spanish midfielder.
The Sun has also reported that Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has told friends, "This matter is so important I am personally prepared to negotiate with Arsenal."
It is thought that Barcelona would be Fabregas’ preferred club to transfer to if he decides to leave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, but he has not ruled out the possibility of playing for Madrid. Real Madrid may be thinking of releasing Lassana Diarra,

It is unknown if Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has any intention of letting Fabregas go – the midfielder is under contract with Arsenal until 2015. Barcelona attempted to buy Fabregas for €35m in June this year, but Wenger convinced
the midfielder to stay. The Arsenal skipper recently rejoined the Gunners after recovering from an injury and proved helpful in their crushing 3-1 victory over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 on December 28.
In any case, Arsenal would probably not be willing to part with Fabregas for the £35m being offered by Real Madrid. And while Barcelona has received heavy investment from the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Qatar-c2986 Foundation, strengthening the club’s financial
position, The Sun reports that £31m is Rosell’s spending limit.
