The Portuguese mentor has claimed that his side deserve a spot in the final of the UEFA Champions League in Allianz Arena.
Real Madrid boss, Jose Mourinho, has expressed that his men have proved themselves worthy of a place in the European showdown next month.
Los Blancos are set to take up the challenge of German Bundesliga giants, Bayern Munich, in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final this Wednesday. The match is bound to take place at the Santiago Bernabeu and has the hopes of millions of
supporters attached to it.
Madrid were humbled to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Bavarians in the first leg of the semi-final and hence they are willing to give their all in the return leg.
After Franck Ribery provided Bayern with an advantage at the start of the match, Mesut Ozil levelled proceedings in favour of the visitors. However, despite giving a good account of their abilities in the early meeting between the two teams, Real could not
help conceding the winning goal, which came through a strike by Mario Gomez.
With the match tied at 1-1, many could see the match end in a stalemate. Los Merengues were quite resilient in their defending and kept the host team out of their penalty area, only to see them score the winner late in the match.
Jose Mourinho is of the opinion that the midweek European clash is going to be a tough fixture. However, he has emphasized the enthusiasm surrounding the Spanish capital and has stressed that his players are ready to give their all for a place in the final.
While talking to reporters, the 49-year-old was quoted as saying:
"We want and believe that we deserve to be in the final. Now we just have to do it. But Bayern are a very good team: the coach, the players. They all have the right to think they can reach the final.”
"However, when I look at my players all I see is excitement. We want to win and that's the most important thing. Tomorrow [Wednesday], we are going to try to reach the final. These players deserve it."
Can Jose Mourinho take Real Madrid to the final and achieve European glory for the third time in his career? We can only wait and find out.
